This property benefitted from a beautiful location but lacked the size needed for a modern extended family. The Project involved the construction of a new substantantial basement providing untility and toilet facilities along with a large living area. The ground floor was completely re-configured and extended as was the first floor.

The build was challenging due to the construction of the basement directly adjacent to existing property, the number of internal changes and the matching of old and new. All was overcome to ours and most importantly the Client's complete satisfaction.

Basement Construction

A substantial floor area being provided by the new basement area.

Basement wall construction. The walls were subsequently coated with a specialist rubberised waterproof tanking. The basement was subsequently backfilled and landscaped (See external pictures)

Superstructure

The Clients wanted to achieve an open aspect to all the living areas to enjoy the views over their property. This was achieved with large glazed patio doors and side panels to the kitchen/diner in the foreground. The area directly above this could be accessed from the first floor and used as a sun terrace if so wished. The large glazed areas to the right are the living room and bedroom windows (incorporating juliet balcony). Access to the basement could be achieved both externally (to right of patio area here) and internally. The upper window areas are clad in decorative leadwork which is particularly attractive.

The configeration of the build allowed the Client to specify some exceptional detailing such as this main entrance feature.

The exposed wood theme continued internally with this bespoke oak staircase again constructed and installed by ourselves.

The build was completed successfully and is being fully enjoyed by the totally satisfied Clients. Should references be required we could obtain these on a case by case basis.
