This project presented several challenges including overcoming building over an existing sewer, which was achieved by utilising insitu concrete piling and suspended floors. Access and space were also tight on the site, and the internal reconfiguration of the existing property was extensive and largely structural. We co-ordinated all of these issues successfully with the Client, Structural Engineer and local building control department.

The project entailed the construction of a unique living area connected to the existing property by a link, which accommodated a new kitchen, dining area and living space. The Client was particularly closely involved in all stages of the build on this project as he preferred to project manage the build personally after the initial design had been prepared.

Timber gates within rendered screen walls provide privacy and security to the front courtyard area.

Rear Garden Patio and large patio doors.

The patio configuration was carefully specified by the Client and the large patio doors from the living areas ensure this can be enjoyed to the maximum.

This project was completed successfully and we are particularly proud of the result taking into account the complexity of the build in certain areas. We also enjoyed working with the Client and his wife, who’s fresh scones were something special!

Dear Phil,                                           GREAT JOB!

This is just a short letter to thank you and your team for the professionalism in the way you approached the work undertaken in what effectively is a new house for us.

Just to say we have had many 'positive comments'  which reflects the passion and commitment you had during construction, in ensuring the outcome as we set out at the start of the project, was followed through to a high level of quality, delivered on an agreed timing plan & to an agreed budget.

Considering the scale of the project and the general disruption which is obviously going to be encountered, I feel MHC conducted the work in a very professional manner overcoming unforeseen issues in a very swift logical approach. I would have no hesitation in recommending MHC to anyone who is thinking of having a similar project done.

Finally just to say thanks again we really do love our new home it is a delight to be in, entertain in, it's everything we hoped it would be, and as you know my expectations are high!

Yours sincerely

Simon Butterworth
